Assist Turns Thirteen!

May 2022 has seen our 13th Birthday and in celebration of us entering our teenage years we wanted to give back to our younger generation.

We celebrate our birthday yearly – an annual giveback to the community. This year we celebrated with the MFC Foundation during the final week of their Changemakers course. We had the opportunity to meet and speak with this cohort of 12 girls.

We took this opportunity to invite a panel of our Tees Valley business and professional women as Assist Role Models. This included; Assist Founder and Chair Ann Stonehouse, Andrea Glazebrook of Treats of Yarm, Rachel Teate of BBC Tees, AGA – Lyndsay Hogg of Hogg Global Logistics and Louise Cooper Brand Founder and Managing Director of UGlow Ltd. All role models with successful businesses and careers, sharing insight into the world of work and business.

Our panel was a perfect mix of Assist Women with very different stories of resilience, overcoming adversity and determination to get to the place they are today. They shared their forward thinking to what is next.

The girls asked questions to the panelist of Assist Role Models, shared their aspirations for their future professional career paths and one girls discussed her hopes to one day start her own business.

Our five Assist Role Models had the honour of presenting these incredible young girls, of our next generation, with their certificates in celebration of their achievements over this course ran by MFC Foundation.

Huge thanks must be made to Treats of Yarm supplying the cupcakes to celebrate our 13th Birthday with MFC Foundation and the twelve Changemakers, who we were lucky enough to meet.

Recognition to MFC Foundation, the course leaders Ash and Rachel, and Lynsey Edwards, Head of Foundation as they invest in our local next generation of girls – our women of the future.

And until next year… Happy Birthday to Assist 💜
