Lisa Gosnay
'A Seat at the Table' Project
Hi, I’m Lisa!
I’ve been volunteering with Assist since February 2024 and am Project Lead for Assist’s A Seat at the Table Project which empowers Tees Valley women & girls to lead the way to a brighter future for our area.
Most of my working life has been spent as a teacher and leader in the Tees Valley. Born and raised in Middlesbrough, I am a proud Teessider, passionate about making a difference. I now support the education sector and other purpose-driven organisations with communications, marketing and strategy on a consultancy basis.
In 2011, I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Aplastic Anaemia, which changed my life. I’m thriving as a result of a stem cell transplant from a stranger in 2021. This drives me to ‘pay it forward’ and bring light to the lives of others. I share my story on Instagram to give people hope and volunteer with charities that support patients on a similar journey. I’m also training to be an accredited coach and am an Assist mentor.
I’m a workaholic by nature but balance is central to my life now! So you’ll often find me doing my favourite things – with family and friends, eating out or on the beach with my dog and best friend, Raphy.
