Hi, my name is Andrea, and I am delighted to be Events Co-ordinator for Assist Women’s Network. I am a business owner and a Mam of three wonderful grown-up children.

I have a degree in Special Educational Needs & Child Behaviour Management. I worked as a teaching assistant for 7 years in a Primary School, supported a youngster with Autism for 5 years following the Peach programme and worked as a key-worker in children’s residential homes for 3 years.

I have always baked and decorated cakes as a hobby but turned it into a business around 10 years ago. I bought a little sweet shop on Yarm high street around 5 years ago which then led me to buy ‘TREATS of Yarm’ which is an ice-cream/ sweet shop with a café inside. I still make and sell my cakes.

I try to give something back by doing charity events on a regular basis and volunteering for Assist which has provided me with support, knowledge and confidence that I did not have before. I am privileged to be a part of this tribe of strong, professional, amazing women.
