Assist continues its Book Club, with this years resident host, published author Vicky Brown.
This book club is not for your usual fictional reads, this book club is designed for women who want to be inspired, who want to learn how to develop personally and in business. Personal growth will always endeavor to meet your business or career needs.
We will be reading books on personal development, spiritually, business development and anything we think will be inspiring.
There are so many fabulous authors out there, whose mission is to inspire others. We want this book club to be about sharing the ideas from these books and promoting them in our own lives. Talking about what worked and what didn’t. We want to bring these books to life by analysing, discussing and integrating them into our own lives, personally and professionally.
‘The more you read the more things you know. The more that you learn the more places you’ll go’ Dr.Seuss
We will be reading from wonderful authors such as, Marianne Williamson, Brene Brown, Oprah Winfrey, Norman Vincent Peale, Tony Robbins and many more. Books that have been designed to make us think about our personal and professional growth.
We aim to come together, once every 3 months, share what we have learnt and discuss our experiences.
This year’s host will be author, Victoria J.Brown. Victoria is passionate about personal and self-development. She has a BA(Hons) in Business Management, a MA in Creative Writing and is certified as a Law of Attraction Practitioner. ASSIST is just the most wonderful organisation. Filled with decent, powerful, creative, useful, intelligent and interesting people. And, the networking meetings smell so much better than normal ones :)

Since joining Assist I have been invited to events including Hidden Women of Teesside, where I had the chance to network with local business women and build contacts. I felt very welcomed and part of something supportive of where I'm at today and what I'm trying to achieve. I now have an experienced mentor for the next year to help me focus and build my dreams. Lastly I was invited to the Assist Christmas meal which was amazing as being self-employed and a small grassroots organisation, it can get lonely so I was grateful for the opportunity to connect with other women feeling the same way and trying to achieve great things.

Assist is a great place to meet, connect and collaborate with businesswomen from across the Tees Valley. It's welcoming and informal atmosphere for networking, combined with the diverse range of business topics it addresses on behalf of its members is both interesting and informative. This winning combination means i learn something new each time i attend and its why i keep coming back.

I found Assist through a love of books and a desire for personal development but what I discovered was so much more. Whatever you come to Assist for it will benefit all aspects of your life; personal, professional and community. It is positive action for women on Teesside to support and empower each other and most importantly, to thrive. Why would you not want to be a part of this?
